Absolutely, you can always cook your own food in Suvie. In fact, we have an entire section of the website dedicated to assisting these cooks with 100s of quality recipes of classics adapted by our in-house chefs on our Recette Magazine blog (articles and guides also included).
You can cook any protein that you would normally use with the sous vide style of cooking. For vegetables, we suggest those that do well steamed for typically no longer than 20 minutes. For starches: rice, whole grains, and quinoa do very well. For pasta, we recommend using extruded shape noodles (such as macaroni or farfalle bow ties). Because Suvie does not have a stirring element, longer pasta such as spaghetti can "clump."
Additionally, you can take advantage of Suvie's Slow Cook function to cook your favorite slow cooker recipes in your Suvie.
