Do not refreeze any fish or seafood product - if a fish or seafood product arrives and is not fully frozen, please discard it. For other meals, the FDA recommends food should be stored at 41 F or colder. If the meals in your box are still below this temperature, they should be ok.
Your proteins may arrive partially thawed, however, per the FDA, these proteins are perfectly safe to refreeze and consume as long as they remain at 41℉ or colder. Refreezing partially thawed protein will not have any negative impact on the taste or quality of these items. Should your proteins arrive warmer than 41℉, please contact our customer service team at help@suvie.com and we would be happy to either credit this order.
Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of food-borne illness. If you’re pregnant, elderly or sick you should use extra caution. Even though the temperatures are lower than the FDA recommended temperatures, sous vide is a widely accepted cooking method because the cooking times are generally long enough for “pasteurization” to make your food safe. Please use caution when cooking below the FDA recommended temperatures, you can always adjust your protein temperatures to what the the FDA recommends.
