We're so sorry to hear that your starches are undercooking, rest assured we're here to help.
First, let's ensure the correct pots/accessories are being used for your starch type. Using the incorrect pot can cause starches to not cook properly. Please reference the table below:
Starch Type | Pot Lid | Pasta Pot | Rice Pot | Strainer |
Rice, Oatmeal & Grains* | X | X | ||
Pasta & Potatoes | X | X | X | |
Slow Cook | X | X |
*Some grains require the use of the pasta pot & strainer when boiling & draining is required.
Next, please ensure that the pot is sitting centered and directly on top of the metal heating plate. This provides maximum contact for heat transfer.
Lastly, please be sure you are filling the reservoir with the required amount of water for the amount of starch being cooked. Your Suvie will prompt you on the display the amount of water required based on the information you have entered. For fill level guidelines, please see the table below:
Rice, Oatmeal & Grains | |
0.5 - 1.0 Cup | 1L Fill Line |

2.5 - 3 Cups | 3L Fill Line |
Pasta & Potatoes | Max 3L Fill Line |
